Our journey takes us through scenic mountain roads, winding passes, lush rice terraces, and beautiful highland landscapes. Along the way, we will stop at several viewpoints overlooking waterfalls and traditional Malagasy stilt-like houses perched above the rice fields.

Nosy Soa is home to five species of lemurs, including ring-tailed lemurs, brown lemurs, the impressive black-and-white ruffed lemur, tiny bamboo lemurs, and the remarkable Coquerel's sifaka, often referred to as the "dancing lemur." Most of the lemurs are exceptionally friendly, making this a truly unforgettable experience.

Day 4. November 2, 2026 (Monday). ANTANANARIVO – MORONDAVA – KIMONY – AVENUE OF THE BAOBABS – MORONDAVA

Depending on the schedule of our domestic flight to Morondava (typically departing at 9:35 AM), we leave the hotel early in the morning, most likely around 6:30 AM. Upon arrival in Morondava, we will be met and transferred to our hotel.
After lunch, we visit Kimony Resort, where we will meet several species of tame lemurs native to Madagascar's western coast and become acquainted with yet more of the island's remarkable wildlife.
Later, we continue to the world-famous Avenue of the Baobabs, where we will remain until sunset.
The Avenue of the Baobabs is one of Madagascar's most iconic natural landmarks. This extraordinary landscape is lined with giant baobab trees that can reach heights of up to 30 meters and trunk diameters of more than 11 meters. Located near Morondava on Madagascar's west coast, the avenue is renowned for its dramatic beauty and unique atmosphere.
Many of these ancient trees are believed to be hundreds, and in some cases even thousands, of years old. At sunrise and sunset, their massive silhouettes create a truly prehistoric landscape. The baobab is considered sacred by many local communities and symbolizes resilience, longevity, and endurance.
Dinner will be served at a local seafood restaurant famous for its spectacular seafood platters overflowing with fresh delicacies from the Indian Ocean.

Meals included: Breakfast
Accommodation: Palissandre Côte Ouest Resort & Spa or similar

Day 5. November 3, 2026 (Tuesday). MORONDAVA – AVENUE OF THE BAOBABS – MORONDAVA

Today we have even more time to enjoy the beauty of Morondava and the Avenue of the Baobabs. We will experience this extraordinary place at sunrise and have the opportunity to capture unforgettable photographs.

We will also explore the town itself: visiting the fish market and a local school, strolling through Morondava, and observing the surrounding mangrove forests.
Dinner will be served at a local seafood restaurant. Here you will find several simple yet incredibly atmospheric establishments. These restaurants are usually modest in appearance, featuring wooden tables, thatched roofs, and a relaxed setting. Yet they serve some of the freshest seafood imaginable, caught the very same day by local fishermen. The menu includes crabs, prawns, lobsters, grilled fish, and other delicacies from the sea, prepared with simplicity that allows the natural flavors to shine.

The minimalist approach to cooking only enhances the freshness of the ingredients. Local spices and sauces add character to the dishes, and despite the simple surroundings, the flavors remain unforgettable.
At approximately 9:00 PM, we will head to the Avenue of the Baobabs for a night photography session beneath the stars. This is a truly unique experience that combines the grandeur of the giant baobab trees with the beauty of the night sky. Located far from urban lights, the avenue offers ideal conditions for stargazing and photography, with minimal light pollution and clear skies. The towering baobabs rise from the earth like ancient guardians, creating a striking contrast against the stars.
The best time for astrophotography is during a moonless night, when the Milky Way can be seen in all its glory. The silhouettes of the baobabs against the star-filled sky create mesmerizing images that seem to unite heaven and earth within a single frame.

Day 6. November 4, 2026 (Wednesday). MORONDAVA – BETANIA VILLAGE – ZAZAMALALA PARK – MORONDAVA

After enjoying the colors of the sunrise and breakfast, we set out to explore the fishing village of Betania.

Our route takes us through mangrove forests aboard traditional Malagasy dugout canoes. Upon arrival, we will meet the villagers and have the opportunity to visit a local home.
Betania is a fishing village located near Morondava on Madagascar's west coast. It is known for its traditional way of life, picturesque beaches, and the unique culture of its fishing communities. The village offers a rare opportunity to experience authentic Malagasy coastal life and enjoy beautiful natural surroundings.

After the excursion, we return to the hotel for lunch.
At approximately 2:00 PM, we depart for Zazamalala Park, a sanctuary for lemurs rescued from poachers. Accommodation: PALISSANDRE or similar

Day 7. November 5, 2026 (Thursday). MORONDAVA – ANTANANARIVO

Breakfast and relaxation on the beach.

Today we will also visit a Protestant church (prayer days are Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday). Madagascar's Protestant churches play a significant role in local community life. One of the distinctive features of some Protestant congregations on the island is the powerful expression of emotions during worship services.

People may weep as a sign of spiritual cleansing, sing joyfully, and even dance as an expression of faith and devotion. These gatherings are not only spiritually profound but also deeply emotional, bringing communities together through shared experiences. Malagasy Protestant churches often blend traditional Christian practices with elements of local culture, creating services that are vibrant and unique. Joy and sorrow are expressed openly, and worshippers share their feelings freely, creating an atmosphere where faith and emotion are closely intertwined.

Depending on the flight schedule, we will transfer to the airport at approximately 12:30 PM (the scheduled flight from Morondava to Antananarivo usually departs at 2:35 PM). If time permits, there may also be an opportunity to revisit Betania Village before departure.

Day 8. November 6, 2026 (Friday). ANTANANARIVO

Today we will explore Antananarivo. We begin with a visit to Zoma Market, the city's most colorful and famous marketplace, followed by Independence Avenue, lined with historic arcades and notable buildings, including the City Hall and Gare Soarano railway station.
We will then continue to the Upper Town, home to the Royal Palace and one of the city's finest viewpoints, offering spectacular panoramic views over Antananarivo and its surroundings.
We will also dedicate time to visiting the handicraft and souvenir market. As with everything else in Madagascar, the souvenirs found here are truly unique. Visitors can purchase giant ammonite fossils measuring up to one meter in diameter, as well as beautifully preserved petrified wood and other remarkable geological specimens.

This evening, we will enjoy a major folklore performance featuring traditional music and dance. Madagascar will reveal the secrets of its unique musical instruments, including the valiha, amponga, and kabosy, while vibrant costumes woven from raffia bring the stage to life. The performance will be presented by a renowned family ensemble with extensive international touring experience.

Dinner at the excellent Café de la Gare, located within the beautifully restored colonial building of the former railway station.

Day 9. November 7, 2026 (Saturday). ANTANANARIVO – AMPEFY

Ampefy is a small town located approximately 120 kilometers southwest of Antananarivo. The drive typically takes around 2.5 hours, depending on road conditions. The route passes through scenic hills, agricultural landscapes, and traditional villages, making the journey itself an enjoyable experience.

Ampefy is famous for its waterfalls, particularly Lily Waterfall, one of the region's most beautiful natural attractions. The area is also known for Lake Itasy, Madagascar's largest volcanic lake, surrounded by rolling green hills. The region is characterized by terraced fields, fertile agricultural land, and distinctive flora.
Here we will have the opportunity to swim and enjoy a natural spa treatment beneath a clay-rich geyser. Upon arrival, we will check into our hotel and have lunch. After lunch, we proceed directly to the geyser.

The Ampefy geyser is one of the region's most unusual natural attractions. Unlike traditional geothermal geysers, it ejects cold mineral-rich water, a relatively rare phenomenon. The water is believed to be beneficial for the skin, and many locals and visitors come here to enjoy the natural massage effect created by the powerful streams.
The water strikes the ground with considerable force, creating a refreshing and invigorating massage that helps relax tired muscles. It is the perfect place to unwind after the journey and immerse yourself in Madagascar's remarkable natural environment.

Beyond its visual beauty, Lily Waterfall offers an atmosphere of tranquility and seclusion. Visitors often stop here to enjoy the scenery, swim in natural pools, or simply relax while listening to the sound of cascading water.
