South America doesn’t rush. Here, everything happens in earnest — the tango, the conversations, the wind, the water.
Buenos Aires greets you with the aroma of coffee, the shade of plane trees, and the sound of a bandoneón drifting from open windows. At the crossroads of Recoleta and La Boca, two worlds meet: marble facades and colorful street art, the old and the alive.
Across the river lies Uruguay. A small country where Old Believers, descendants of Russian settlers, live under the rustle of eucalyptus trees. Among tropical gardens, wooden houses, icons, and familiar gestures feel like echoes of childhood.
Next comes Paraguay — a land of missions and silence. The ruins of Jesuit settlements tell the story of an attempt to build an ideal society. The stones hold the memory of people who spoke Guaraní and prayed in Latin.
And the finale — Iguazu Falls. 275 separate streams impossible to capture in words. Standing at the Devil’s Throat, feeling the air tremble, you understand the raw power of the continent.
South America unvarnished. Genuine, layered, and endlessly alive.

There we will be met by a local guide with the bus and head straight to the Brazilian side to admire the most beautiful waterfall in the world! Iguazu Falls is one of the seven natural wonders of the world, located on the border of Brazil and Argentina. This majestic complex of 275 waterfalls is set in a national park that is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Just imagine: every second, seven tones of water falls from a height of 80 meters, creating an incredible spectacle.

If you want to have lunch in the park, there is a good buffet type restaurant.
There are other interesting things to do on the Brazilian side besides the waterfall park.
Near the entrance to the park is the Helisul helipad. Here you can fly over the waterfalls in a 7-seater helicopter for an additional fee. The flight lasts 10 minutes and costs approximately 130-150 USD. After seeing the waterfalls, we will head to the Bird Park (Parque dos Aves). We'll spend almost the entire day in the park, each time marveling at the views. Each observation deck offers a stunning view of the waterfall. Each time is new and delightful!

After the park, we will stop by a village of the Guarani Indians, the indigenous people of this area. They are considered the masters of this land, so only for them the entrance to the park is free. Here you will be able to buy souvenirs and freshly plucked delicious pineapples from the Indians.

We will return to Puerto Iguazu and drive to the Three Borders Park lookout. This is the point where the Paraná and Iguazu rivers converge and where three countries, Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay, meet on three banks. On each of the banks there is a park, a viewing platform and a symbolic border pillar. The place is very picturesque.

Day 9. October 12, 2026 (Monday). PUERTO IGUAZU - JESUIT MISSIONS IN TRINIDAD (PARAGUAY) - ENCARNACION

After breakfast we will set off to explore Paraguay. After crossing the border, we will drive to the town of Trinidad, home to the 2 Jesuit missions of Jesús de Tavarangué and La Santísima Trinidad de Paraná, which are a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Jesuit missions in the Guaraní Indian lands are a system of Christian missions established in the XVII-XVIII centuries by the Jesuit order in the territories of the South American Guaraní Indians with the aim of converting them to Catholicism.

Thirty separate reductions, with a total population of up to 141,000, formed the nucleus of the "Jesuit State" in the province of Paraguay, which covered the vast territory of present-day Paraguay, Argentina, Uruguay, and parts of Bolivia, Chile, and Brazil. Within the missions a unique system of social relations was created, which was a compromise between the idealised ideas of the friars about Spanish culture and the pre-Christian traditions of the indigenous population: thus, relying on the communal traditions of the Guaraní and managing to retain key positions, the Jesuits were able to form a system of local self-government in the missions and to create armed units that became for a century the main armed force of the region.

With virtually no private property, the Indians worked together on plantations and in craft workshops, whose products included religious-themed artwork. Far from being completely isolated, the missions used the order's network of institutions for trade - primarily tea-mate and cotton - becoming a major regional economic center, supplying the markets of Buenos Aires and Santa Fe. The Paraguayan Reductions were the most successful among a number of similar projects undertaken by the Order both in the Americas and in the world at large.

We will start our acquaintance with the city from the central square Plaza des Armas, where there is a small park with interesting sculptures as well as an Orthodox church. We will talk about the unusual intertwining of the historical destinies of Paraguay and Russia, and then we will go to the beach of San Jose, where you can see the Argentine side of the river. Here we will see an old silo and a mill.
We will then say goodbye to Paraguay and return to Argentina. A 4.5-hour drive to Puerto Iguazu awaits us and a flight to Buenos Aires.

Day 11. October 14, 2026 (Wednesday). BUENOS AIRES.

In Argentina, the word Villa (vigia) is the same word that in Brazil is called favelas, but in Russian it simply means slums. The most famous slum neighborhood in Argentina is Villa-31. This district is unique in that it is huge, it is located in the very center, between the most expensive districts, 50 thousand people live there, and yet.... it doesn't officially exist. That's where we're going straight after breakfast, escorted by armed police.

And what's Argentina without Tango? Tango is the face of Argentina. Tango is an integral part of Argentina. In the evening, we go to a tango show! An ancient hall, traditional Argentine food and a real show - a full-fledged performance with decorations, lights, live musicians. Usually these are skits from old Argentine life, songs and dances, small plots. A colorful ending to a busy trip!
